Former Federal Mills, Mackey Street, North Geelong
This is an on-going project focused on reusing and recycling former woollen mills. The site is large and home to an important Geelong industry. With the decline of manufacturing generally the site has changed hands and has been the subject of a number of planning permit applications for a variety of uses.
We have successfully obtained permits for a museum, markets, a cafe, high-end restaurant and office on the site. Managing planning approvals associated with the revitalisation of this former industrial complex requires patience and a thorough knowledge of the planning controls.
There is more yet to happen on this site so all the pieces of the planning jigsaw puzzle need to be carefully put in place to ensure on-going successful outcomes.
