The paint job that divided the internet!

The eye-catching paint job has certainly turned heads.

Some residents love its vibrant creativity, while others feel it clashes with the home’s historic charm.
Love it or hate it, one thing’s for sure: everyone’s talking.

Interestingly, the homeowner hasn’t broken any rules.
Despite the dwelling’s heritage status, current regulations didn’t require formal approval for the colourful transformation.
Even so, the local Council may now be scrambling to review the guidelines in response to the growing public attention.

Thinking about giving your own heritage home a fresh look?
This serves as a timely reminder: always check with your local Council or Shire before picking up a paintbrush. Whilst paint can generally be painted over, choosing the wrong colours or even painting a  previously unpainted facade could contravene Heritage regulations.
Getting it wrong might cost more than a few disapproving glances, it could leave you thousands of dollars out of pocket in fines or forced changes.
