We’re excited to share the successful planning journey of Polly’s Playhouse, a new doggy daycare in Ocean Grove on the Bellarine Peninsula, and their Geelong Council town planning permit application process.
In May, we lodged a town planning permit application with the City of Greater Geelong, marking the start of a detailed and thorough assessment process. The application was referred to multiple internal council departments, including Environmental Health, Engineering, and Local Laws, to ensure the proposal met all regulatory and safety requirements. During the review, Council requested additional information, which we coordinated efficiently on behalf of our client to keep the application progressing smoothly.
As part of the town planning permit process, the application required public advertising. We managed this step by placing the on-site notice for Polly’s Playhouse, allowing the community to engage with the proposal. During the advertising period, Geelong Council received three objections and a letter of support, all of which were addressed thoughtfully to support a transparent decision-making process.
By September, Geelong Council issued the planning permit and endorsed plans, enabling Polly’s Playhouse to move forward with confidence.
This project highlights how planning advocacy; careful management, proactive communication, and thorough guidance, can help clients successfully navigate the town planning system and bring a vision to life.
