Our client approached our team with an exciting vision for their caravan park: to expand accommodation options and create a more versatile destination for both tourists and long-term residents.
Our role was design only, with our team preparing a site plan illustrating the existing site layout alongside the proposed new sites and facilities. This provided a clear overview of the existing caravan park and the proposed expansion, helping establish a design concept suitable for consideration as part of a future planning application.
The concept includes 34 new sites, featuring a mix of two-bedroom and three-bedroom cabins to accommodate a variety of guests, from couples and families to long-term residents.
Beyond accommodation, the proposed design incorporates an extensive range of recreational and communal facilities, including entertainment rooms, BBQ shelters, a dog park, a half-court basketball area, a playground, children’s entertainment facilities, and lawn bowls or mini golf. A shed workshop is also included to support practical site needs.
Architecture and material selection were important considerations throughout the design process. The proposed buildings feature a combination of exposed brick, timber cladding and Colorbond steel, bringing together practical materials and a cohesive architectural style suited to the development.
By considering accommodation, recreation and architectural design together, the concept explores how the caravan park could evolve to meet changing visitor needs and support its long-term vision.
